Experience the cutting edge of modern jazz with New Jazz Underground, the dynamic New York trio redefining the genre through a bold mix of tradition and innovation. Blending swing, blues, and improvisation with hip-hop, indie, Afro-Latino, and contemporary influences, their sound is both deeply rooted and forward-thinking. Formed at The Juilliard School, Abdias Armenteros, Sebastian Rios, and TJ Reddick first gained attention through viral living-room performances that showcased their raw chemistry and fresh approach to jazz. Winners of the 2023 DCJazzPrix, the trio has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young acts in the scene today. With explosive energy, inventive compositions, and fearless musical interplay, New Jazz Underground delivers a live experience that pushes jazz beyond boundaries--where tradition meets the future in real time.
